Lumpsum calculator: growth of a one-time investment
See what a one-time investment in a mutual fund or any asset could grow to over time at an expected yearly return.
How it works
Future value = P × (1 + r)^t, where P is the amount invested, r is the yearly return and t is the number of years.
Questions people ask
SIP or lumpsum, which is better?
A lumpsum earns more if markets rise steadily after you invest. A SIP spreads your buying over time, which lowers the risk of investing everything just before a fall.
Does this account for inflation?
No. To see the value in today's money, divide the result by (1 + inflation rate) raised to the number of years.
