UPI handles a record 25.47 billion payments in October

UPI processed 25.47 billion transactions in October, up 23% from a year earlier, according to NPCI data. The value of payments rose 16% to ₹31.53 lakh crore.

That works out to about 822 million transactions and ₹1.02 lakh crore a day. In September, UPI handled 24.07 billion transactions worth ₹29.37 lakh crore.

Festive spending drove much of the increase.
